Re: Annual Infinite Scholars College Scholarship Expo
Greetings Administrators and Guidance Counselors:
The Chicago Teachers Union and Infinite Scholars Program cordially invite your school’s juniors and seniors to attend our Annual College Scholarship Expo which is scheduled to take place Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Sept. 27, 2013, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sept. 26 event will be held at the TEAM Englewood Community Academy High School, 6201 S. Stewart Ave., Chicago, IL 60621. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 event will be held at the Harvey Community Center, 15320 Center Ave., Harvey, IL. 60426.
What makes the Infinite Scholar College Scholarship Expo unique is that college and university recruiters will issue acceptance letters with partial or full scholarship offers on-site. Eligible students will have the opportunity to participate in on-site recruiter/student interviews with college, university and military officials. Also, the Expo will provide potential college students and parents with workshops and information on higher education.
Online registration is required for students who are interested in applying to colleges and universities that will be present at the Scholarship Expo. Students who will be attending the Expo are asked to complete the registration process so they can obtain their admittance ticket before the event.
Requirements for students who wish to participate in the Scholarship Expo include:
- High school transcript with an overall 2.8 G.P.A. or better (there will be exceptions)
- ACT Score of 21 or SAT score of 1650 if student has already taken (there will be exceptions)
- 250 word essay explaining Why A Higher Education Is Important
- Two (2) letters of recommendation from a teacher, school administrator and/or community leader
- Printed admission registration form available at http://www.mohela.com/infinitescholar
Schools that would like to send students in a group are asked to RSVP. To RSVP or receive additional information, a representative can attend an information seminars on August 30, 2013, 11 a.m. at the Harvey Community Center, or Sept. 13, 2013, 11 a.m. at Team Englewood Academy.
